In Win7 please go to Start,  then Control Panel.  There look for   Power Options ,  in the Power Options window please look for High Performance instead of the default, usually Balanced.   You may need to open  the  Show Additional Plans   ,  this will keep the OS from slowing down the processors or turning off devices over time for saving power.
