Would still like to see the Voltage and Temperature displayed permanently on the GUI
maybe near the Date and Time

I definitely agree with Les on the usefulness of this feature. Perhaps it could be toggled with the fields used for Date and Time?

Why do we need the time and date displayed on the radio gui anyway when it is already available on the computer or available from other
software being used to control or monitor the radio
It would be a better idea to use these two areas to display Voltage and Temperature - temperature is very desirable when doing digital modes
The display box for Voltage and Temperature is often forgotten at startup of digital mode or covered by some other screen -
it can not be started up during transmit

Personally, I like the date and time where it's at, because you can click on it until it shows UTC. My computer is not in UTC, so this is very handy. Showing the temp/voltage under it would take up very little real estate, so I don't think that the time/date needs to be ditched in favor of it.
FWIW, DDUtil shows the voltage/temp at all times, and can be started up during transmit. I don't worry about the temps that much, even during digital mode work, I just leave the fans on 40C and don't go over 50w transmit power. If you need to go over 50w, you need a linear, IMHO.

Why should it be either/or? There is more than enough space for all of these parameters to appear in the strip where Setup/CWX is located and free up space in the main GUI for other developments like sorting out the mess they created when RX2 was introduced. Who knows, maybe they could even colour code the Temp/Volt boxes and provide an audible alarm when either of these parameters went out of range. Don't hold your breath guys.

The Flex3000 can get quite hot, so a permanent display in the area would be very useful, not sure why it has not been done in the first place, there is plenty of room above the time thingy.

This could be done as an option i.e. a checkbox to include V/T on main display or not. As was previously mentioned there appears to be plenty of room near the clock. Another alternative is an "Always on top" option for the existing pop-up window. In addition, some type of "alarm" display such as a color change / flashing button if temperature exceeds a preset limit. Either the clock or Start/Stop button would be good candidates. I recently had a fan failure and didn't notice the temperature increase until power output started dropping. An alarm might help avoid damaging the PA, etc.

After nearly 3 years of operation of my Flex 3000 - mainly using digital modes - I have come to believe that my radio cannot handle full tx power using high duty cycle modes such as Olivia etc - In my climate (summer time temps up tp 40c) the radio is not capable of cooling adequately at any more than approximately 30 to 40 percent of full output and even this level will take PA temps to 80c and above - I now believe that it is imperative that the PA temp is permanently displayed on the GUI and not require operator intervention to display it Surely it is just a small request to have this displayed when one considers the visual benefits of having it displayed with a colour code to indicate critical temperatures Owners Manual version 1.18.0 states as follows---- The keyboard combination of Ctl-Shift-I will display the voltage and temperature. Clicking on the temperature will alternate its value between Celsius or Fahrenheit. Either value may be displayed against a yellow or red background indicating levels of critically ----- I HAVE NEVER -EVER -SEEN THIS FEATURE WORK - Certainly would be nice to see the powers that be relent and accede to this request
