What Version of DirectX is Loaded on my PC?

DirectX is included as an integrated part of the Windows operating system.  The version of DirectX that is loaded on your PC depends on your version of Windows

  • Windows XP SP3 : DirectX 9.0c
  • Windows Vista : DirectX 10.0
  • Windows Vista SP 1 or greater : DirectX 10.1
  • Windows 7 & Windows 8 : DirectX 11.0
To update your version of DirectX, you must update your Windows installation by applying the latest service pack and other updates through Windows Update.
Note: To be able to download the DirectX run-time component, your system must be able to be authenticated as a Genuine Advantage installation
