The FLEX-6000 has been neither tested nor type-accepted or certified for use in the Maritime Mobile Service.
In general, The International Maritime radio service uses the ETS EN:300-3xx series of evaluations for compliance.
- 1.1 EN 300 373 - Electromagnetic compatibility and Radio spectrum Matters (ERM); Maritime mobile transmitters and receivers for use in the MF and HF bands.
- 1.2 EN 300 338 - Radio Equipment and Systems (RES); Technical characteristics and methods of measurement for equipment for the generation, transmission, and reception of Digital Selective Calling (DSC) in the maritime MF, MF/HF, and/or VHF mobile service.
- 1.3 EN 300 067 - Radio Equipment and Systems; Radiotelex equipment operating in the maritime MF/HF service; Technical characteristics and methods of measurement.
This is consistent with the US FCC CFR 47 Part 80 Maritime Mobile service.
