It has been discovered that occasionally the Windows Sound System "Levels" for the DAXv2 DAX TX can get set to improper levels, which reduce the DAX TX Streaming output available to the radio. The symptom of this condition is that setting the proper DAX TX Streaming level of 45-47 does not send enough audio to the radio to result in full modulation of the Radio.
To address this issue: please check your Windows Sound level settings for DAX:
With DAX Running and connected to your favorite Digital Program:
- Click on the "Window" Icon
- Type "Control Panel" and hit ENTER.
- Select "Hardware and Sound"
- Select "Manage Audio Devices"
- Select the "Playback" Tab
- Select the "DAX TX" Sound Device and right-click on it
- Select "Properties"
- Select the "Levels" tab
- Now: Look at the DAX TX Slider in the "Levels" tab and be sure it is set to 100%
- If it is NOT 100%, change it to 100%.
- Click on the "Balance" Button and be sure that both the Left and Right sliders are at 100%
- Click on OK to close the "Properties" Window.
- Click on OK to close the "Sound" window.
- Close the Control Panel Window.
Now go back to your Digital Program and test your transmit audio levels,
(For WSJT-X, a DAX TX Streaming setting of 45-46 should result in the Peak Audio reading of just under the "0" level on the radio's LEVEL Meter,)
