Uninstalling SmartSDR v4.2.18 (New MSI Installer Procedure)
SmartSDR v4.2.18 introduces a new MSI installer, which requires a different uninstallation process than previous versions. Follow the steps below to properly remove the software:
- Right-click on the Windows Start Menu icon.
- Select Installed Apps from the menu.
- Scroll down and locate SmartSDR v4.2.18 (or the version you wish to uninstall).
- Click the three-dot menu (⋯) on the right-hand side.
- Select Uninstall.
You will see a confirmation message:
"This app and its related info will be uninstalled."
- Click Uninstall to proceed.
This process will remove:
- SmartSDR
- DAX
- CAT.
7. Reboot the Computer when the process completes.
Optional: Remove PC Specific Settings Files
Perform these steps if:
- You do not plan to reinstall SmartSDR, or
- You have experienced issues with DAX, CAT, or SmartSDR windows not opening properly
8. Delete SmartSDR configuration files:
- In the Windows search box, type %APPDATA% and press Enter.
- Open the folder shown in the results.
- If prompted with multiple folders, select Roaming.
- Locate and open the FlexRadio Systems folder.
Within this folder, find and delete the following files:
SSDR.settingsSSDR.settings.backupDAX.settingsDAX.settings.backupCAT.settings
